Three October Seminars in Washington D.C.

In just two weeks my colleagues Tony Byrne, Apoorv Durga, Matt Mullen, and I will be gathering in Washington D.C. to share some of our latest research findings at three special events held in conjunction with the annual KM World conference. We are looking forward to meeting with many of you and discussing your content technology and business challenges and successes.

1.The Right Way to Buy Business Technology - Tuesday, October 16

This one day-workshop leads both business and technical managers through a proven process of procuring business technology, drawn from many years helping major organizations around the world buy the right business technology, at the right price in a timely manner.

We will work through with you a step-by-step, practical process from gathering initial requirements, through the practicalities of issuing tenders/RFPs, to closing the deal. Come away with a detailed selection methodology and roadmap that you can apply immediately within your own organization.

2.The Social and Mobile Workplace - Tuesday, October 16

The workplace is changing rapidly, with both employers and employees demanding more mobility and interaction.

Pressure is building for access to work-related files and apps on mobile devices (laptops, smartphones, iPads, etc.) at one end of the spectrum, and full social collaboration at the other end. We’ll examine in depth the practicalities of designing and delivering a strategy for a Social and Mobile Workplace, looking at the key issues that both business managers and technical teams alike need to consider.

3.SharePoint Symposium - Thursday-Friday, October 18-19

The SharePoint Symposium aims to be different: a conference on Microsoft SharePoint that does not proselytize. Whether you already have SharePoint in your organization or are looking to acquire it, you will encounter no sales pitches here.

What you will experience are sessions led by true industry experts that will lead you through the pros and cons and strengths and weaknesses of SharePoint in practice. From managing (and avoiding) the threat of sprawl and viral growth, to considering alternatives and add-on technologies, this conference draws from real-life experience and best practices from leading practitioners.

We're particularly excited to be joined this year by the following SharePoint experts:

Mary-Jo Foley, Editor, All About Microsoft, ZDNet
Sadalit Van Buren, SharePoint Content Architect, BlueMetal Architects
Richard Harbridge, Senior SharePoint Architect/Evangelist, Portal Solutions
Shawn Shell, Principal Consultant, Consejo, Inc
Martin White, Managing Director, Intranet Focus Ltd
Dux Raymond Sy, Managing Partner, Innovative-e, Inc.
Bob German, SharePoint Practice Director, BlueMetal Architects

There's still time to register: http://www.kmworld.com/kmw12/Registration.aspx

Hopefully you'll be able to join us at these events.
